OISTERWIJK, 29 January 2016 – DOKVAST has leased the first phase of the new DC New Logic VI at the Ekkersrijt industrial estate in Son (near Eindhoven) to Rhenus Contract Logistics. The Oisterwijk-based developer and the logistics service provider signed the lease contract recently. The 35,000 m² section will be delivered in November.
New Logic VI is located on a 12-hectare site and will be a total – including upper storeys – of approximately 80,000 m². There is also an extra option to extend the warehouse (more than 21,000 m²) available nearby. ‘We are pleased to be able to lease a European Distribution Centre) EDC to Rhenus at the Ekkersijt hot spot for the second time’, according to Jos Klanderman, Managing Director of DOKVAST. The investor had already developed a sustainable DC with a floor area of 57,000 m² for Rhenus in the eastern section of the industrial estate, where Bouwmaat and Post NL are also located, in 2013.
BREEAM
DOKVAST is supported by Habeon Architecten and Heembouw during the design and construction of New Logic VI. Raimond Weenink Bedrijfsmakelaardij is acting as intermediary. These four players previously developed extremely sustainable distribution centres and leased them to Nokia and Tesla Motors in Tilburg. These properties are certified with a BREEAM Outstanding (five stars) rating and are the two most sustainable DCs in Europe. The new DC will also be given a BREEAM certificate. The premises will use a great many features, including sustainable materials, automatically dimmed LED lighting, triple glazing, extra wall and roof insulation and a heat pump. In addition, the roof of the premises will also be prepared for the installation of solar panels.
Building Dashboard App
DOKVAST has developed a unique Building Dashboard App for Rhenus that clearly displays the consumption and the financial effects of the various sustainable savings measures. This App enables users to view the status of the electricity, gas and water metres per unit or department or for the entire building. Maintenance, repair requests and faults can also be reported with the iPad in an extremely user-friendly manner. All new large-scale projects undertaken by DOKVAST in the future will include a Building Dashboard as standard.
