BREEAM is the Netherlands’ most common certification system for sustainable building and is the definitive assessment method for determining the sustainability performance of buildings. The ‘Outstanding’ certificate is the highest qualification (five stars), and has only been awarded four times previously in the Netherlands.
DOKVAST has managed to surpass its own sustainability record of 87.13%. The score was awarded for the design of New Logic I, which is located on the same business park. Earlier this year, the 45,000-meter distribution center (DC) was declared the Netherlands’ most environmentally friendly building.
DOKVAST is setting the sustainability bar even higher for New Logic II. Practically all the parties who collaborated on the construction of the previous DC are involved in this project. The new building has again been designed by Habeon Architects. The property includes a 43,600-square-meter hall, a 4,700-square-meter mezzanine and a 1,400-square-meter office.
The hall may optionally be split into units of 10,000 square meters. This DC is also due to be completed by construction company Heembouw within a short timeframe. The warehouse must be completed by September this year and the office space must be handed over in October. In all likelihood, the score for the BREEAM-NL completioncertificate will also reach the same outstanding level (91.17 per cent for the previous DC) or even higher.
DOKVAST develops and invests in sustainable logistics real estate. Founded in 2006, the company from Oisterwijk distinguishes itself by focusing on innovation and sustainability with the objective of achieving savings for end users.
