KEY FEATURES
During the refurbishment DOKVAST had the objective of preserving as many of the details and characteristic features of the old historical building as possible. A good example is the characteristic knuckle roof, which is still quite rare in the Netherlands these days. The knuckle roof is unique because it has a span of 10 metres and was made of 12 cm unreinforced “ceramic bottles”. As a consequence this shoe factory from the 1950s was able to preserve its characteristic appearance.
Another objective that DOKVAST wanted to realise during the refurbishment was to create an open and inspiring office environment with ample incidence of light from outside. This openness invites those present to cooperation and meetings in a business layout with, simultaneously, a very warm appeal. There are both closed and shared (work) areas in this special building. These are locations where work can be performed or meetings can be held in all peace and quiet or where, if so required, contact can be sought with others for work-related matters or actually some relaxation.
The large shared area has a multifunctional layout. This makes this area highly suitable for one-on-one meetings, seminars or informal meetings for both small and large groups. This multi-lessee business building also has an outdoor terrace and a spacious private car park with the possibility of charging electric cars through various charging stations.
